Hi Urszula, it is interesting you should bring this up, i believe most medicine of our day has been derived from some sort of plant origin most from the very early times of our history, asprin for instance was used in roman times, i also believe that processed foods are not as good as the old ways of cooking as they have lost the goodness we are meant to get from them, our times have become prone to filling ourselves up with fillers rather than deriving the essential nutriants meant to keep us well and happy, David

By the way isn't it funny that ages ago people new so much about vegetables, herbs and etc? While now we just go for some tablets to get better?

Thanks to Isabel for her comment on my beetroot story. She noticed that Romans did eat actual leaves of this vegetable as aphrodisiac.
When she mentioned trying to cook some I remembered that one of the traditional polish soups is a beetroot soup made out of root and young leaves too. It is very tasty, a bit sweet I would say. Worth giving it a try for sure!

It is getting better.. my swimming :)
I swam 4 times the length of the pool (both ways!) and feeling more and more confident. Even did a flip in water!! Have a little pain in my muscles next day, but will eventually make myself healthier.
Have you recently done something to make yourself feel fit? Anyone? :)

Hi Urszula, swimming is good for your figure and your muscles, i think you should take your time to learn and practise breathing out of water in time with your arm movements, i am sure it will come to you as it is just like everything else you need to have lots of practise, keep safe and let us all know how you are getting on from time to time...Dave

Hi everyone! Hope you are well!
Recently I have decided to learn how to swim. It goes quite good! My favourite technique is breaststroke. I am sure you all know how beneficial the swimming is for our bodies, especially for the back pains (for all the desk workers:)
Anyway, I have some problems with my breath coordination. Get out of breath very quickly :(
I was hoping to get some advice from you. Maybe there are some exercises for that?
All the best

Hello, I believe that reasonable amount of anything is good. I try to stick to red wine as apparently is good for your heart, but I would not have more than one glass with my diner.
The same with a nice glass of brandy or whisky.

Hello all! Urszula, your last article on what to eat and what not to was really interesting. What about drinking? I mean wine, beer and sprits. Could you share your opinion on this, please?
